It’s October, I guess that means it’s time to pack away the summer sandals and switch to boots and close-toed shoes for six long months. I do love a classic boot, jeans and comfy sweater or tee. A simple, yet polished look for the weekend or even the office. What boots do you have your eye on this fall?

Adding an oversized scarf is the easiest way to make a look come together. It adds texture, color and movement. I picked up this striped foulard in Florence last December and it’s been the prefect addition to so many outfits. Oh, and you can never have too many scarves during the winter. They’re a lifesaver for both inside and outside!

Where did the warm Spring weather go? Temperatures have dipped back to the mid-thirties with snow flurries… c’mon, Chicago! So until it warms up and the flowers begin to bloom, I’ll wear my floral loafers inside and hope for Spring!

Extra cold weather calls for extra layers! A leather jacket and heavy knit over a tube dress is comfortable and simple. Next time, a pair of wool tights are are order though! Here’s to another week that gets us closer to Spring!

All black with a few neutrals, leather, and a big scarf is my fall uniform. Throw in some knits here and there and you basically have it! Scarves are my go-to accessory, especially when they are the same size as a small blanket. Not only do they provide layers of warmth, but they add so much texture and interest to any look.

Summer is officially winding down, sad, I know! The weather was great this weekend in Chicago, but I definitely noticed a dip in the temps at night. I find it a bit challenging to make an easy transition into cooler temps and colors. A simple solution besides layers, are neutrals and black on black.

The weather has been crazy cold these past few days, causing me to unpack my puffer coat, gloves, and shovel. Where is Spring? For this look, I knew I wanted to wear a leather jacket and sneakers. I kept the rest simple and opted for jeans and a neutral blouse.

The transition from Winter to Spring clothing is always the most challenging for me. I want so badly to wear all the lightweight fabrics and fresh colors, but it’s still too cold! This Spring has been especially difficult since the temperatures are still around 30° most days. So, I opted for a lighter jacket and beanie. I found this tee at Zara a while back and decided to keep it simple and stick to a cooler palette. But how fun will this tee look with a pair of jean shorts and slip-on sneakers?! Someday, right?
