Neutrals and all-black looks are far from boring. They’re versatile, chic and elegant. And they are often easy to style in different ways. Here I wear an oversized/asymmetrical turtleneck with jeans and zip-up booties. A grey and tan coat adds just the right amount of contrast and texture.

A combination of earth tones seems appropriate for fall. This raglan sleeve sweater from Acne Studios is a favorite. The large knit gauges provide extra texture and it’s really warm! To keep my look refined and simple, I decided on black staples and a slim clutch. Oh, and a warm lip for a little pop.

It’s officially sweater weather in Chicago… so, this means heavy knits, boots and puffer coats for the next 5 months. I kept it simple with a soft v-neck sweater, jeans and black boots. Perfect for a simple, yet chic look.

An all-grey look to match the weather and time change in Chicago. While I love to wear neutrals and darker colors, the loss of daylight is always such a bummer this time of year. I mean, it’s dark outside before 5:00PM… OK, rant over. I decided on a few shades of grey with a pop of cobalt blue for this look.

A pencil skirt and black pumps are a wardrobe must-have. Both are ideal for work, interviews, luncheons, etc. I just picked up these d’Orsay pumps from Vince for a special luncheon I attended last week, and I love them! They’re comfortable, classic and the heel length is perfect. Seriously, I think I could walk all over the city in these.

A black sweater was on my fall shopping list this year. I wanted something simple, chic, and versatile. And I just found it! This v-neck wool and cashmere knit is just want I had in mind, and it has a draped silk back with a center pleat.

All black with a few neutrals, leather, and a big scarf is my fall uniform. Throw in some knits here and there and you basically have it! Scarves are my go-to accessory, especially when they are the same size as a small blanket. Not only do they provide layers of warmth, but they add so much texture and interest to any look.
